Sessions: 22/9, 29/9, 6/10, 13/10, 27/10, 3/11, 10/11, 17/11, 24/11, 1/12, 8/12 and 15/12

(no class during Herfstvakantie and Kerstvakantie)

In this 12 week course, students will explore the fundamentals of handbuilding and wheelthrowing with clay and discover a wide range of surface decorating techniques to bring their pieces to life. 

We will begin with core construction methods, such as pinch, coil, and slab building and with each project, learn a new technique to refine the surface. There will also be wheel thrown projects. (For those of you who would like to practice and fine tuned your throwing or handbuilding skills, there's an option to add-on lab hours). 

This class is perfect for beginners as well as those looking to deepen their practice. Each week builds on the last, with guided demonstations, hands-on practice, and opportunities to develop personal projects. By the end of this course, students will have a strong foundation in handbuilding and surface design, along with a collection of finished ceramic pieces. 

There will be an unveiling party on the last week of all students' pieces, where we can share warm food and drinks and talk about our process, our experiences, and our finished pieces. 

Students completing 12 week course will bring home 8-10 pieces of finished projects, maximum 50L. (Additional work will be charged €2 per litre). 

2½ hours class (Clay, glazes, and 50L firing included)

Lessons will be taught in English at Baggerbeest, Sluisbuurt.

Option to add on lab time: You have three hours of lab time per week, during the course. You can choose when you use your 36 hours. For example, you can use them weekly or stack them and spend a day or the weekend at the studio. No lab time can be transfered or used after the course is over. (Clay usage during lab is included. Firing will be charged after 50L at €2/liter).
