Evening Clay Club
Former students can join our Evening Clay Club to practice wheel throwing or handbuilding (3 hours a week). A nice way to focus on your own projects and do some exploring. There will be people to ask for assistance.
Tuesday 19:00-22:00 (with the option of another to-be-determined evening in the week if you can't make it).
Included:
7kg of 254 stoneware clay (replenished at the beginning of the month)
4 Glazes and 3 oxides for club use
Firing service up to 12L (and €2 per additional liter)
Club shelves for clay and work-in-progress storage
Equipment for use: 2 Wheels, 1 slab roller, large work surface, and tools
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for keeping your clay moist/sealed in your own marked tupperware.
Designate 15-20 minutes for clean up. All tools including wheel, slab roller, bats, work surfaces, and one person mops the floor after use.
When sanding, please take it outside. If it's poor weather outside, then sand over a large bowl of water and be diligent to keep the dust from being airborne.
Be careful when handling work other than your own. It is easy to bump or break someone's work when sharing a group shelf. Please do so with care.
